About Dawn McCarty
Forensic Criminologist | Cybersecurity Expert | Predator Profiler
Dawn McCarty sits at the rare intersection of threat detection, behavioral psychology, and evidence management.
An award-winning industry leader, Dawn holds a "quadruple-threat" academic portfolio: an MBA in Cybersecurity, an M.S. in Criminal Justice (Crime Scene and Evidence Management), and dual B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Criminal Justice (Psychology of Victimology).
She applies this rigorous forensic framework to deconstruct online predator tactics and secure family environments. Dawn doesn't just study predators; she translates their tactics into actionable defense strategies for families through her Digital Defense Series and her podcast, Unsealed.
The Mission
Her mission is deeply personal. As an "Experiential Expert", a survivor of Pathogenic Captivity, childhood abduction, severe pathogenic cult-like parenting, and predator grooming, Dawn brings a visceral understanding of coercive control to her work. She has turned her "forensic lens" on her own past, documenting the journey in her memoir, Sealed to My Abductor.
