The Unsealed Safety Protocol:

Your Rules of Engagement

Institutions have a playbook to protect their reputation. This is your playbook to protect the victim.

When a child is harmed or a crime is confessed, high-control organizations often trigger a "risk management" protocol. They call lawyers before they call the police. They check "jurisdiction" instead of safety. They prioritize the institution over the individual.

Stop asking for permission to do the right thing.

The Unsealed Safety Protocol is a standardized operating procedure designed to close the "Help Line Loophole." It bypasses the internal systems that silence victims and forces the institution to acknowledge the law.

Whether you are a parent, a survivor, or a leader with a conscience, this is your line of defense.

The Golden Rule: "External First"

If you suspect abuse, do not call the Bishop or Church Leadership first.

  • Police First: You are reporting a crime, not confessing a sin.

  • The Case Number is Key: The moment you have a Case Number from law enforcement, the "secret" is gone. The institution can no longer hide the report; they can only respond to it.

  • No "Ecclesiastical" Interviews: Never allow a victim to be interviewed alone by religious leaders. Civil law supersedes canon law.

  • How to Use This Protocol

    For Parents & Protectors

Your only job is the immediate safety of the child. Do not wait for a "spiritual confirmation." Do not wait for a confession. If you see the signs, secure the child and call the police. Use this card to script your conversation with leadership after the police have been notified.

    For Survivors

You owe the institution nothing. You do not need to meet with them. You do not need to "clear your standing." Your trauma is evidence, not a disciplinary matter. Use this protocol to set a hard boundary: "Talk to the detective, not me."

    For Safe Leaders

If you are a Bishop or leader, this card protects you, too. When you follow this protocol, you are refusing to be an accomplice to a cover-up. You are choosing moral duty over legal risk management.

    Important Disclaimer

This protocol is for educational and safety purposes. It does not constitute legal advice. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 immediately. Do not hesitate.
